WHEREAS, Kansas City-based James B. Nutter & Company, a mortgage banking firm, is celebrating 50 years of mortgage lending and investment banking services; and,
WHEREAS, J. B. Nutter & Company was founded in 1951 by James B. Nutter, Sr., and has evolved into one of the largest privately owned and operated mortgage banking firms in the United States; and,
WHEREAS, since 1951, the Nutter logo has symbolized that the best rates are under its roof; and,
WHEREAS, James B. Nutter & Company was the first lender in the nation to close and sell an FHA Senior Citizen Reverse Mortgage, and a unique loan program that enables borrowers to receive a monthly payment backed by the equity in their home; and,
WHEREAS, in 1995, James B. Nutter & Company was selected as one of the first three lenders in the country to voluntarily sign the HUD Fair Lending/Best Practices Agreement to promote home ownership for historically under-served borrowers; and,
WHEREAS, through its partnership with the Fannie Mae Foundation, James B. Nutter & Company offers the "Timely Payment Rewards" mortgage, a lower cost mortgage for borrowers with past credit problems; and,
WHEREAS, for five decades, James B. Nutter & Company has marked the way home to the American Dream of home ownership for many people, in all walks of life, all over the country; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature joins Kansas City-based James B. Nutter & Company in celebrating 50 years of mortgage lending and investment banking services in the United States.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
