A RESOLUTION enabling the County to continue the Department of Economic Development's cooperative advertising campaign by authorizing the County Executive to execute Cooperative Agreements with the Independence Council for Economic Development, Lee's Summit Economic Development Council, City of Blue Springs Department of Economic Development, Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Sugar Creek, and City of Grain Valley for a total aggregate payment to the County of $19,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Department's cooperative advertising campaign is a program through which participating communities contribute resources which are combined with those of the County for advertising design, placement, and related services; and,
WHEREAS, those agencies and municipalities desiring to participate in this program are the Independence Council for Economic Development, Lee's Summit Economic Development Council, City of Blue Springs Department of Economic Development, Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Sugar Creek, and City of Grain Valley; and,
WHEREAS, funding for the cooperative advertising campaign shall be in the following amounts payable by the cities and agencies to the County:
Independence Council for Economic Development $5,000.00
Lee's Summit Economic Development Council $5,000.00
City of Blue Springs Department of Economic Development $3,000.00
Grandview Area Economic Development Council $3,000.00
City of Sugar Creek $1,500.00
City of Grain Valley $1,500.00
and,
WHEREAS, the execution of Cooperative Agreements with these agencies and cities is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreements with Independence Council for Economic Development, Lee's Summit Economic Development Council, City of Blue Springs Department of Economic Development, Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Sugar Creek, and City of Grain Valley, in the aggregate amount of $19,000.00.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
