Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing, pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract for Sun Microsystems servers and accessories for use by various departments to World Wide Technology, Inc., of St. Louis, MO, at an estimated cost to the County of $200,000.00, under an existing government contract of the State of Kansas; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such award in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the award to the County Legislature for approval; and,
WHEREAS, transfers are necessary in order to fund this expenditure; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfers; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfers be and hereby are made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award under the existing government contract be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
