A RESOLUTION awarding a twelve-month term and supply contract for the purchase of diesel fuel, leaded and unleaded gasoline, and kerosene for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments and Sheriff's Office, under the City of Kansas City, Missouri Contract No. PA-4309, to Maher Oil of Kansas City, MO, to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming twelve-month period, in the estimated amount of $500,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase diesel fuel, leaded and unleaded gasoline, and kerosene for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments and Sheriff's Office to provide for their needs for the upcoming twelve-month period; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends purchases from Maher Oil of Kansas City, Missouri, under the City of Kansas City's existing Contract No. PA-4309; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984 requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
