Body
WHEREAS, the County and the City of Kansas City desire to provide for the mowing of weeds on certain properties owned by the Land Trust of Jackson County, during the present interval while the Land Trust's operations have temporarily ceased; and,
WHEREAS, under the arrangement proposed, the County will contract with mowing contractors identified by the City, with the costs to be reimbursed by the City up to a limit of $120,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, in undertaking this arrangement, neither the City nor the County is admitting or conceding that it has a legal duty or obligation to perform weed control activities or other maintenance on properties owned by Land Trust; this arrangement is intended to be a one-time response to a situation with possibly adverse effects on public health; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the agreement and understanding of the parties; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement for Contract Administration for Weed Mowing Services with the City of Kansas City, MO.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
