Body
WHEREAS, the County and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) desire to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $60,000 to the SCLC to be used by SCLC for funding the 2003 King Birthday Celebration; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer within the 2002 General Fund is necessary to cover a portion of this funding; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are included in the 2003 County annual budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
