AN ORDINANCE appropriating $50,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1999 Health Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the Mid-America Regional Council to provide social services to the aging and needy through the Palestine Senior Citizens' Activity Center at a cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) desire to enter into a Cooperative Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, whereunder the County will pay MARC $50,000.00 to provide a variety of social services to the aging and needy at a cost to the County in the amount of $50,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, under this Agreement MARC is authorized to subcontract with the Palestine Senior Citizens' Activity Center for an amount not to exceed $50,000.00 to fund its activities; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this expenditure, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation as an amendment to her 1999 proposed County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 1999 Health Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
