Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 18036, dated November 27, 2012, the Legislature authorized an agreement for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office's No Violence Alliance Project (NoVA), a collaborative initiative between key law enforcement leaders in Kansas City to reduce violent crime in Kansas City's urban core through a mix of law enforcement and social service components; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office recommends a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission for the furnishing of the NoVA Teens in Transition Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $7,735.00; and,
WHEREAS, this program will pay the costs for off-duty Kansas City police officers to supervise a group of juveniles that were identified by NoVA to be in the social network of violent groups in Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission for this program is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of Jackson County that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission at a cost to the County not to exceed $7,735.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
