A RESOLUTION transferring $58,602.00 within the 2002 General Fund and authorizing the Director of Purchasing to execute a five-year lease with Tri-City Baptist Church of Independence, Missouri, under RFP No. 119-01, for office space for use by the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners, at an annual cost of $145,413.00, and a cost of $121,178.00 for the remainder of calendar year 2002.

Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has requested formal written proposals under RFP No. 119-01 for the furnishing of leased office space in the Independence Square area for use by the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, the only bid received was from Tri-City Baptist Church of Independence, for space located at 215 North Liberty in Independence, in the annual amount of $145,413.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends that the lease with Tri-City Baptist Church be approved as it has submitted the lowest and best proposal; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund the lease payments for 2002, a transfer is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the lease recommended by the Purchasing Director be and hereby is approved and that the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached lease and any and all other documents necessary to the accomplishment of the lease; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments on the lease to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
