IN THE LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION congratulating Lulu B. Johnson-Fielder on the occasion of her 100th birthday celebration. Intro RESOLUTION # 12695, May 3, 1999 INTRODUCED BY Ronald E. Finley, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, on May 11, 1899, Lulu Fielder was born to George and Martha Johnson in North Kansas City, Missouri; and, WHEREAS, the youngest of eight children, Lulu attended school in the White Oak community in Parkville, Missouri; and, WHEREAS, Lulu was baptized in a creek located behind the White Oak Baptist Church, now a national landmark; and, WHEREAS, Lulu married the late Vennie "Jack" Fielder on July 1, 1919, and they spent more than 60 marvelous years together; and, WHEREAS, Lulu and Jack had eight wonderful children; Vernon, Lottie, Marvin, Luretta, Romalis, Betty, Ralph, and Rubin; and, WHEREAS, in addition, Lulu has been blessed with 31 grandchildren, more than 51 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great grandchildren; and, WHEREAS, Lulu was an active member and president of the P.T.A. at Bruce Elementary School and volunteered with the Red Cross; and, WHEREAS, she also served as a member of the Mount Olive Social Club and is a member of St. Stephen's Baptist Church; and, WHEREAS, Lulu is treasured by her family and friends, who know her as a woman of great wisdom and stature; and, WHEREAS, on May 8, 1999, family will host a celebration at the Downtown Marriott Hotel to honor this woman who is truly loved; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Lulu B. Johnson-Fielder upon the occasion of her 100th birthday, and joins with her family and friends in recognition of this momentous celebration. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
