A RESOLUTION authorizing the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to amend their 2003 budget to include monies for the payment of property maintenance.

Body
WHEREAS, Section 141.770.2, RSMo 2000, allows the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to amend the Land Trust's approved and adopted budget upon the approval of the governing bodies of the county and city that appointed the trustee members; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of Land Trust selling more properties than anticipated at the time its 2003 budget was approved, additional funds for property maintenance are now available; and,
WHEREAS, in an attempt to properly maintain the Land Trust properties and curb blight in the areas in which the properties are located, the Land Trust has reached an agreement with the City of Kansas City to provide an additional mowing of Land Trust properties located in the Kansas City city limits; and,
WHEREAS, the Trustees request that Land Trust's 2003 budget be amended to add the cost of this additional mowing into its property maintenance line item account, increasing that line item from $61,670.00 to $161,670.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Land Trust Trustees are hereby authorized to amend the Land Trust 2003 budget to reflect the increased amount of monies available to be spent to properly maintain their properties from $61,670.00 to $161,670.00.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
