WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5820 passed December 6, 2023, the Jackson County Legislature approved funds to cover the relocation costs of Afghani families to the Kansas City area; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor’s Office has joined the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA-US), an organization helping prosecutors and their families who are facing torture and killing by the Taliban; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature would like to contribute to efforts made by the Prosecutor’s Office; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is required to allow the Jackson County Legislature to contribute matching funds to aid the Prosecutor’s Office with the relocation of Afghani prosecutors and their families to the Kansas City area; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:
