Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 12898, dated October 4, 1999, the Legislature did award a term and supply contract to Necco Coffee of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of coffee service; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13895, dated November 5, 2001 the Legislature did authorize an extension to the contract for a period of three months; and,
WHEREAS, Necco Coffee has agreed to further extend this service for an additional period of three months, in order to allow the Purchasing Department adequate time to properly rebid this contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends this extension; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the contract be extended as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

This award is made on a need basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will, of necessity, be determined as each using agency places its order, with certification made at that time within amounts previously budgeted for the spending agency.
