Body
WHEREAS, The "Corporate Christmas" program, a division of Friends of Foster Care, provides holiday gifts for children that are in the care and custody of the State of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County employees made generous contributions to the Corporate Christmas program by adopting more than 150 children in 2003, which is a significant increase from the 30 children adopted in 1998 when the Jackson County employees began participation in the program; and,
WHEREAS, It is important to recognize the exemplary efforts of the employees participating in this program; and,
WHEREAS, the following departments have shown the true spirit of giving to those less fortunate:

WHEREAS, the employees of these departments are positive role models in displaying the true spirit of the season, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature commends the Corporate Christmas program participants and extends its sincere appreciation for going above and beyond by providing holiday gifts for children in difficult and less fortunate circumstances.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
