A RESOLUTION transferring $39,350.00 within the 2001 General Fund and awarding a contract on Bid No. 58-01 for the furnishing of title searches for use by the Collection Department to Coffelt Land Title, Inc., of Lee's Summit, MO, to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period, in an amount not to exceed $55,350.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 58-01 for the furnishing of title searches for use by the Collection Department to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the only bid thereon a bid from Coffelt Land Title, Inc. of Lee's Summit, MO; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Collection was able to negotiate a price per search with this vendor lower than that actually bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Coffelt Land Title, Inc., of Lee's Summit, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this purchase, a transfer is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
