A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a permanent utility easement in favor of Evergy across a portion of the Rock Island Corridor, for a fee payable to the County.

RESOLUTION NO. 21556, February 26, 2024

 

INTRODUCED BY Charlie Franklin, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, Evergy has requested a permanent utility easement for the purposes of installing fiber optic cable across a 1656 square foot portion of the Rock Island Corridor; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec Department has determined that the permanent fiber optic utility easement will have no adverse effect on the use of the corridor; and,

 

WHEREAS, Evergy will pay the County the sum of $2,662.40 for the easement which includes the $2,000.00 administrative fee and .40/square foot easement fee of $662.40; now therefore, 

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, the permanent utility easement is hereby approved, and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the easement on behalf of the County.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
