INTRODUCED BY Manuel Abarca IV and DaRon McGee, County Legislators

Body
WHEREAS, Carl DiCapo, a beloved member of the Kansas City community, passed away on April 26, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of public service and dedication to the betterment of his city; and,

WHEREAS, Carl served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission for over thirty years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to promoting public safety and combating crime in the city; and,

WHEREAS, Carl and his family ran the downtown Kansas City Italian Gardens restaurant for decades, welcoming guests from all walks of life and earning a reputation as one of the city's most iconic and beloved dining establishments; and,

WHEREAS, Carl's passion for Kansas City was evident in all that he did, and he worked tirelessly to promote and support the city's downtown, its businesses, and its cultural institutions; and,

WHEREAS, Carl will be remembered for his warm and generous spirit, his love of music, and his devotion to his family and friends; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby honors the life and achievements of Carl DiCapo and extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Kansas City community; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature recognizes Carl's many contributions to the City of Kansas City and thanks him for his selfless service, his commitment to public safety, and his unwavering dedication to making Kansas City a better place to live, work, and play; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature hereby encourages all residents to remember and honor Carl's life, legacy, and contributions to the city he loved.
