A motion was made by Jeanie Lauer, seconded by Jalen Anderson, to  
approve the journal of the previous meeting held on May 23, 2025. The  
motion passed by a voice vote.

PERFECTION OF PROPOSED ORDINANCES AND REPORTS OF COMMITTEE

AN ORDINANCE to amend the 2025 amended budget, adopted December  
31, 2024, and set forth appropriations for the various spending agencies  
and the principal subdivisions thereof, for the fiscal year ending December  
31, 2025.

NEW BUSINESS  
Chairman DaRon McGee explained the process regarding Ordinance  
#5986 (2025 Budget). He said the budget amendment will be prepared and  
discussed at the legislative meeting scheduled to be held on Friday, May  
30th. Then a public hearing will be scheduled and the County Legislature will  
consider the budget ordinance as amended on June 9, 2025 during their  
meeting in Independence, Missouri.  
He announced the legislative meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday,  
May 29th will be cancelled.  
Sean E. Smith, County Legislator, asked if members of the Legislature will  
receive a budget book. DaRon McGee said they are ready and will be  
distributed to all legislators. He said Whitney Miller, Deputy County  
Counselor, will send it electronically to all legislators as well.

ADJOURNMENT  
A motion was made by Jalen Anderson, seconded by Donna Peyton, to  
adjourn the meeting. The motion passed by a voice vote.  
The legislative meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 29th was cancelled.  
Meeting adjourned until Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10 00 A.M. at the Jackson  
County Courthouse, 415 E. 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 2nd Floor,  
Legislative Assembly Area.
