HEARINGS

COMMUNICATIONS WITH AND REPORTS OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE  
Phil LeVota, County Executive, was present and reported on the following:  
Turkey Bowl - drawing to giveaway 100 turkeys to associates. The deadline  
to enter is Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. The winners will be  
announced on Friday, November 21, 2025. To enter, email Angie Jeffries,  
Director of Communications.  
His new weekly podcast "Fridays With Phil" was launched on Friday,  
November 14, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. The first topic was a visit at the Parks +  
Rec Department's upcoming Christmas in the Park setup. He asked  
Legislators to give him suggestions for podcast topics, which may include  
visiting departments or agencies.  
County events coming up - Trip the Light Fantastic, a bike ride through the  
Christmas in the Park display on November 23rd and Christmas in the Sky  
on November 26th from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.; members of the legislature  
and 3 guests are invited to attend. The deadline to RSVP is Friday,  
November 21st.  
A Press Conference was held on Wednesday, November 5th regarding tax  
relief for single family homeowners.  
A meeting last week was held with Governor Mike Kehoe.  
There were questions and discussion with Legislators Manuel Abarca IV,  
Donna Peyton, Megan L. Smith and County Administrator Steve Arbo.  
At the conclusion of his report, County Executive LeVota distributed the  
2026 Recommended Budget Books to the County Legislature.

PERFECTION OF PROPOSED ORDINANCES AND REPORTS OF COMMITTEE  
Resolutions #22109 and #22110 were adopted at this time. See page 8 for  
details.  
AN ORDINANCE repealing subsections 7401.2., 7405.4., and 7406.5.,  
Jackson County Code, 1984, relating to protections against retaliation for  
complaints, cooperating with complaint investigations, and amending the  
discretionary authority to decline a complaint and enacting, in lieu thereof,  
three new subsections relating to the same subject.

related to the use of unlicensed gambling devices with severability clause.
