HEARINGS

COMMUNICATIONS WITH AND REPORTS OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE  
Phil LeVota, County Executive was present and gave the following report:  
Due to the inclement weather today, all Jackson County facilities closed at  
2:00 PM. He also reported weather preparation and ongoing actions.  
The Christmas In the Sky event, a yearly event sponsored by the Parks +  
Rec Department was a success and was attended by thousands of people.  
He thanked the legislators who were in attendance - Chairman DaRon  
McGee, Manuel Abarca IV, Venessa Huskey and Sean E. Smith.  
The Christmas In the Park display is open and free to the public until  
December 31, 2025.  
He announced A Christmas Celebration at Missouri Town will be held on  
Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  
The unofficial budget was submitted to the legislators last week both  
electronically and printed. His office has received feedback, is currently  
addressing those items and plans to have the official budget submitted by  
the end of the week.

PERFECTION OF PROPOSED ORDINANCES AND REPORTS OF COMMITTEE  
Repealing subsections 7401.2., 7405.4., and 7406.5., Jackson County  
Code, 1984, relating to protections against retaliation for complaints,  
cooperating with complaint investigations, and amending the discretionary  
authority to decline a complaint and enacting, in lieu thereof, three new  
subsections relating to the same subject.

rescheduled due to inclement weather.  
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $133,835.00 from the undesignated fund  
balance of the 2025 Grant Fund, in acceptance of a six-month extension of  
the VOCA Grant awarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office by the  
Missouri Department of Social Services.

AN ORDINANCE appropriating $90,000.00 from the undesignated fund  
balance of the 2025 Grant Fund, in acceptance of additional grant funds  
received by the Family Court Division from the State of Missouri Department  
of Social Services Division of Youth Services.

AN ORDINANCE appropriating $102,600.00 within the 2025 General Fund  
and awarding a twelve-month contract, with two twelve-month options to  
extend for the furnishing of recruitment services for use by the Sheriff’s  
Office, Detention Center to Changing Technologies, Inc. of Washington, DC  
under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals No. 25-027.

Summit, Missouri, under the terms and conditions of the Junior College  
District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri (MCC) Contract No.  
19-7242-C3R2.

A RESOLUTION awarding a contract for the purchase of a Flex Wing rotary  
cutter for use by the Parks + Rec Department to Van Wall Equipment of

County Detention Center, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of  
$7,155.00, as a sole source purchase.

cover ankle bracelet monitoring service fees for use by the Jackson County

change the location of the legislative meeting scheduled to be held on  
December 8th from Independence to Kansas CIty, Missouri.The motion
