A motion was made by Venessa Huskey, seconded by Charlie Franklin to  
approve the journal of the previous meeting held on May 22, 2025. The

AN ORDINANCE to amend the 2025 amended budget, adopted December  
31, 2024, and set forth appropriations for the various spending agencies  
and the principal subdivisions thereof, for the fiscal year ending December

The County Legislature is awaiting a budget ordinance from the County  
Executive.  
DaRon McGee said he would send out information this afternoon to  
members of the County Legislature regarding the 2025 budget.

INTRODUCTION OF PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS AND ASSIGNMENT TO COMMITTEE  
Recognizing the retirement of Mark Bryant after 50 years of service.  
(Assigned to the Legislature As A Whole.)  
A motion was made by Venessa Huskey, seconded by Manuel Abarca IV, to  
adopt Resolution #21932, recognizing the retirement of Carolyn Long and  
her service to the Jackson County community. The motion passed by a roll  
call vote:

In anticipation of passing a budget ordinance next week, Chairman McGee  
suggested holding legislative meetings on Wednesday, May 28, Thursday,  
May 29 and Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.  
A motion was made by Venessa Huskey, seconded by Charlie Franklin, to  
hold legislative meetings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 28-30,  
2025 at 10:00 A.M. in the Kansas City Legislative Assembly Area. The  
motion passed by a roll call vote:  
Yes: 6 - DaRon McGee, Megan L. Marshall, Manuel Abarca IV, Venessa  
Huskey, Charlie Franklin and Jeanie Lauer  
Absent: 3 - Donna Peyton, Jalen Anderson and Sean E. Smith  
DaRon McGee encouraged everyone to have a great holiday weekend. He  
announced the County Legislative offices will close today at noon.

adjourn the meeting. The motion passed by a voice vote.

LEGISLATURE WILL NOT MEET ON MONDAY, MAY 26, 2025.
