WHEREAS, the County has a need for ammunition for use by the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department’s Park Safety and Enforcement Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Finance and Purchasing Department has bid this contract and is wanting to award all the vendors that are in the contract series; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri has identified eight authorized vendors under its competitively bid contract, State of Missouri Contract CC240449 Series (001 through 008); and,
WHEREAS, the eight approved vendors under the State of Missouri’s contract are Bald Ridge Outdoors, LLC of Van Buren, MO, Gulf States Distributors, Inc. of Montgomery, AL, Howards Premium Ammo, LLC of Florence, SC, On Target Ammunition of Grain Valley, MO, Precision Delta Corporation of Ruleville, MS, S1 Armory, LLC of Weatherford, TX, Specialty Cartridge Inc. of Covington, GA, and Sunset Law Enforcement, LLC of Ackley, IA; and,
WHEREAS, the availability of multiple vendors offers a large selection of ammunition from which the law enforcement agencies may choose and allows for product availability given that ammunition can be in short supply; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department’s Park Safety and Enforcement Unit all recommend taking advantage of this state contract; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with one twelve month option to extend, for the furnishing of ammunition to Bald Ridge Outdoors, LLC of Van Buren, MO, Gulf States Distributors, Inc. of Montgomery, AL, Howards Premium Ammo, LLC of Florence, SC, On Target Ammunition of Grain Valley, MO, Precision Delta Corporation of Ruleville, MS, S1 Armory, LLC of Weatherford, TX, Specialty Cartridge Inc. of Covington, GA, and Sunset Law Enforcement, LLC of Ackley, IA, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC240449 Series (001 through 008), an existing, competitively-bid government contract; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation, which is estimated for 2024 to be $140,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, subject to the availability of funding in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
