Body
WHEREAS, Doris Cannon, a Victim Advocate for the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, is retiring, as of December 31, 2023, after more than 27 years of service to Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, Doris joined Jackson County on April 1, 1996, as a Victim Advocate for the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and has served as a Victim Advocate under five different elected Prosecuting Attorneys; and,

WHEREAS, Doris' colleagues appreciate her genuine sense of compassion, not only for the victims she serves but for them as well; and,

WHEREAS, Doris is always willing to assist whenever needed, as well as lending a listening ear on a personal level, offering prayers, and giving the best hugs; and,

WHEREAS, Doris, affectionately known as "Momma Doris" to many colleagues past and present, harbors a nurturing spirit and will always make anyone hurting feel better with one of her decadent dishes or baked goods; and,

WHEREAS, Doris' parents have passed on, but left with her seven siblings that she respects and adores, and is the baby sister to six of them; and,

WHEREAS, Doris has two beautiful children, a son, Andre Cannon, and a daughter, Morgan Toliver, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and,

WHEREAS, Doris will be sorely missed by colleagues and friends within the Jackson County Courthouse for her devoted teamwork, love, and compassion to all; and,

WHEREAS, Doris will step out on faith and follow the directives of her Heavenly Father, knowing that all will be well; now therefore,
