Body
WHEREAS, the County is in need of an agreement with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO to participate in and contribute funding to the Kansas City Regional Electric Readiness Planning project (EV Plan); and,

WHEREAS, the EV Plan will help to support vehicle electrification strategies as outlined in Connected KC 2050, the Clean Air Action Plan and the Kansas City Regional Climate Action Plan; and,

WHEREAS, the EV Plan will facilitate the following objectives: engaging regional stakeholders and the public in transitioning to electric vehicles; identifying current interests, needs, and barriers among stakeholders in electric vehicle expansion; developing a plan that will guide EV charging network expansion, including parcel-level charging station site suitability, expansion strategies and costs; developing an online mapping resource for use in identifying charging station priority locations; developing policy and best practices guidance that may include sample EV-ready ordinance, uniform permitting standards and inspection processes; and,
WHEREAS, contribution from Jackson County will be part of the local matching funds requirement and allow for County participation in the consultant procurement process and in the Kansas City Regional EV Readiness Plan Steering Committee; now therefore,
