Body
WHEREAS, the Office of the Clerk of the County Legislature has a need for annual maintenance and support for the proprietary Granicus software; and,
WHEREAS, the Clerk’s Office currently uses Granicus Encoding, Open Platform Suite, and Meeting Efficiency Suite for Legislative meetings; and,
WHEREAS, the encoding appliance hardware and software are in need of an upgrade and annual maintenance; and,
WHEREAS, hardware upgrade and annual software maintenance agreements are considered sole source purchases, as they can only be provided by the hardware and software’s developer; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing and Clerk recommend the award of a contract for a hardware upgrade and software maintenance and support for use by the Office of the Clerk of the County Legislature to Granicus of St. Paul, MN, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $6,844.00, as a sole source purchase; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and Clerk of the County Legislature, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.

There is a balance otherwise unencumbered to the credit of the appropriation to which the expenditure is chargeable and there is a cash balance otherwise unencumbered in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made each sufficient to provide for the obligation herein authorized. Funds for future years are subject to appropriation in the County’s then current annual budget.
