RESOLUTION NO. 21314, June 26, 2023

 

INTRODUCED BY Megan L. Marshall, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited formal written bids on Invitation to Bid No. 23-030 for a term and supply contract for the furnishing of safety equipment and supplies for various County departments for one twelve-month term, with two twelve-month options to extend; and,

 

WHEREAS, a total of eighty-one notifications were distributed and four responses were received and evaluated, from the following:

BIDDERS

Anixter Inc.,

Overland Park, KS

 

Controlled Environmental Products

North Kansas City, MO

 

Medline Industries, LP

Northfield, IL

 

LITGEAR

Las Vegas, NV

 

 and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends award to Anixter, Inc., of Overland Park, KS, RJ Kool Company of Missouri dba Controlled Environmental Products of North Kansas City, MO, and Medline Industries, LP, of Northfield, IL; and,

 

WHEREAS, a split award to the low bidders is recommended to ensure continued availability and variety of necessary supplies from multiple sources; and,

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contracts to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are available in the then current Jackson County budget.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
