Body
WHEREAS, Melodie Chrisman, the Community Services League's (CSL) Vice President of Income Supports, has announced her retirement after serving for more than a decade and a half, initially as a volunteer, organizing monthly food drives at local grocery stores in Blue Springs; and,

WHEREAS, Melodie's impact has been so great, she was named one of CSL's first Champion of Hope Awardees at the 2013 Gala, and soon after joined the staff as Blue Springs Site Manager in December 2013, where she played a vital role in strengthening and growing CSL's impact in so many ways; and,

WHEREAS, Melodie consistently championed CSL's work in the easternmost offices located in Blue Springs, Buckner, Grain Valley, and Oak Grove, ensuring that neighbors in those communities have access to resources that support strong and stable families; and,

WHEREAS, Melodie led CSL's Family Stability Initiative, intersecting with families having school-age children at risk of transiency, and helped avoid countless evictions while keeping children stably enrolled in their neighborhood schools; and,
WHEREAS, Melodie is passionate about her home-base in Blue Springs and is deeply embedded in the social fabric of the community, serving as a longtime Rotarian, a member of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and sitting on numerous committees over the years; and,

WHEREAS, Melodie is a caring, passionate, tenacious, creative, tireless, and committed individual, who has not gone unrecognized by her community, having been named Blue Springs Citizen of the Year Honoree in 2017, Woman of Distinction Honoree in 2017, Rotarian of the Year in 2018, and, under her leadership, ...
