RESOLUTION NO. 21133, December 12, 2022

Body
WHEREAS, County Legislator Tony Miller will be leaving his position representing the Third District At-Large on December 31, 2022, and it is appropriate that on the occasion of his final meeting, the Legislature should honor and recognize his dedicated service to the citizens of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, during his service, Tony has been known for his measured and balanced approach to all issues; and,

WHEREAS, Tony's favorite role in office has been helping his constituents and listening to their concerns; and,

WHEREAS, Tony is a champion of the Jackson County Parks + Rec Department, sponsoring measures to expand the County's trail system and improve park facilities; and,

WHEREAS, Tony is passionate about cycling, spending five or six days a week biking on County trails with friends; and,


WHEREAS, Tony is a 1998 graduate of Baker University and a 2001 graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law; and,

WHEREAS, Tony is law partner at the Troppito Miller Griffin Law Firm and a former Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office; and,

WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Legislature, Tony served as a Trustee of the Board of the Little Blue Valley Sewer District; and,

WHEREAS, in 2018, Tony participated in the Kansas City Dancing With the Stars fundraising event for Cristo Rey High School; and,

WHEREAS, Tony served from 2009 to 2013 on the Jackson County Drug Commission to oversee the COMBAT tax; and,

WHEREAS, Tony's wife Bethany and his daughters Katie and Natalie join in honoring Tony for his service to Jackson County; now therefore,
