Body
WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec Department has a continuing need for Rainbird irrigation equipment, parts, and service; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a twelve-month term and supply contract with one twelve-month option to extend for the furnishing of these items and services be awarded to Turfwerks Company of Johnston, IA, as a sole source purchase; and,
WHEREAS, award as a sole source purchase is appropriate because Turfwerks Company, which has a Kansas City-area office, Davis Equipment of Gardner, KS, is the only local, factory-certified vendor capable of supplying and servicing the Parks + Rec Department’s specialized irrigation systems; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Directors of Parks + Rec and Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award and any extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have been made in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
