AN ORDINANCE appropriating $12,700.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2022 Grant Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute a cost-share agreement for the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance Program.

Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County Parks + Rec applied for a grant and received a notice of award in the amount of $12,700.00 under the Missouri Department of Conservation's Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) Program; and,
WHEREAS, the funds will be utilized to remove infected ash trees in the park system that have been impacted by the emerald ash borer; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a 100% local match; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the County’s participation in the plan; and,
WHEREAS, an existing County term and supply vendor will be utilized to complete the work in connection with this grant; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds needed for this program in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2022 General Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached agreement for the County’s participation in the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance Program.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
