Body

 WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5455, dated November 23, 2020, the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney accepted funds from the Department of Justice awarded pursuant to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s Special Assistant United States Attorney program grant from the United States Department of Justice to be used for local law enforcement purposes; and,

 

WHEREAS, this grant allocated $247,236.00 to Jackson County for the funding of salary and benefits for an assistant prosecutor; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends an extension to this grant at no cost to the County to allow for the full expenditure of grant funds; and,

 

WHEREAS, this extension will provide for continued funding for this position through September 30, 2023, at no cost to the County; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s Special Assistant United States Attorney program grant be extended through September 30, 2023, as recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney, at no cost to the County; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Prosecuting Attorney and all other County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to give effect to the intent of this Resolution.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
