A RESOLUTION congratulating Nancy Nowiszewski on the occasion of her retirement as a Care Minister for Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.

 

 

RESOLUTION NO. 21023, August 8, 2022

 

INTRODUCED BY Jeanie Lauer, County Legislator

 

 

WHEREAS, Nancy Nowiszewski of Blue Springs, Missouri, is retiring after seventeen years of service as a Care Minister for Timothy Lutheran Church; and,

 

WHEREAS, as a Care Minister, Nancy oversaw Timothy Lutheran’s benevolence ministry and was the director, recruiter, and trainer of volunteers to serve the church’s care ministry programs, including Divorce Care, Grief Share, Cancer Care, Congregational Care, and its Stephen Ministry; and,

 

WHEREAS, Nancy fulfilled many roles at Timothy Lutheran, serving as the staff liaison to the GIVE Commission for Care and Stewardship and as the resource contact for the Friendship Club (serving adults with special needs) and the Annual Adam’s Army Blood Drive, while overseeing the Prayer Chain, Christmas Giving Tree, Women of Hope, and the Live Well Community Fair, which provides free resources for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being; and,

 

WHEREAS, throughout her ministerial work, Nancy strove to fulfill Timothy Lutheran’s mission of ‘Transforming Lives through Christ,’ with every interaction adhering to her favorite Bible verse from Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”; and,

 

WHEREAS, prior to joining the staff at Timothy Lutheran Church, Nancy was a copy and production editor for Better Homes and Gardens Books, the author and publisher of Helping Women Recover from Abortion, the Family Events and Volunteer Coordinator at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and founder of the Iowa State Federation of Lutherans for Life; and,

 

WHEREAS, Nancy’s friends, co-workers, and the congregants of Timothy Lutheran Church praise Nancy for her calm demeanor, kind heart, and empathetic manner; and,

 

WHEREAS, Nancy’s loving husband of fifty years, Tom, their children, Lauren (Casey), Liz (Rich), and Natalie (Alex), and grandchildren Keira, Hayden, Karsen, Roman, Marcus, Scarlett, and Everett, all join in the celebration of this happy occasion; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Nancy Nowiszewski on the occasion of her retirement as a Care Minister for Timothy Lutheran Church, and extends best wishes on all of her future endeavors.

 

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
