Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20949, dated May 10, 2022, the Legislature authorized the transfer of $1,000,000.00 within the 2022 American Rescue Plan Fund and requested the County Administration to solicit competitive proposals from qualified agencies for the purpose of insuring that food insecurity is minimized; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited proposals on Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 64-22 in response to that Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, a total of ten responses were received and evaluated; and,

WHEREAS, the County Administrator recommends the award of a contract for the furnishing of these services to Harvesters- The Community Food Network, of Kansas City, MO, under the terms and conditions of RFP No. 64-22, for the reason that a single contract with Harvesters would allow for the purchase of the food requested by all respondents and maximize the financial impact of the award while simplifying project administration; and,

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Legislature to consider further funding for programs that address food insecurity issues before the end of the 2022 budget year; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the County Administrator and Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for...
