INTRODUCED BY Jalen Anderson, County Legislator

Body

WHEREAS, the Facilities Management Division of the Public Works Department has a need for the maintenance and repair of its fire suppression systems; and,

WHEREAS, the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Public Works recommend the award of a thirty-four month term and supply contract for these services to Johnson Controls (formerly Simplex Grinnell) of Lenexa, KS, under the terms and conditions set forth in Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) Contract No. 030421-JHN, an existing competitively-bid government contract; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends award under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made under the existing competitively-bid contract as recommended by the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Public Works and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are available in the then current Jackson County budget.
