A RESOLUTION congratulating Victoria Owen, Miss Jackson County, on her 2nd Runner Up finish in the Miss Missouri USA Pageant.

RESOLUTION NO. 20975, June 13, 2022

Body

 WHEREAS, Victoria Owen of Independence, Missouri, won the title Miss Jackson County, and won the Swimsuit Award and placed second runner up in the Miss Missouri USA pageant held May 1, 2022, at The Mansion Theatre for the Performing Arts in Branson, Missouri <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branson,_Missouri>; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria has been competing in pageants for 14 years, becoming the 2019 America’s U.S. Junior Miss Missouri State winner and the 2019 America’s U.S. Junior Miss National winner; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria has finished in the top five of every pageant she’s competed in, including recognition as the 2014 Miss America Diamonds National Spokesmodel winner and National Photogenic winner, the 2012 Miss American Coed National Actress winner, National Speech winner, the 2010 Miss Missouri Princess State winner, and the 2008 Miss American Coed Missouri State winner; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria was homeschooled and is a graduate of Kiger Christian Academy, a participant in Families for Home Education, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and an honor student at the Metropolitan Community Colleges; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria won multiple parliamentary debate awards and speaker point awards throughout high school, lettered in academic achievement through her homeschool program and with the Truman High School orchestra, and has received numerous vocal awards and scholarships to the Music and Gospel Arts Institute; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria starred in local commercials for the Westport Flea Market, starred in the short film “Eden,” and won first place in the Independence Square Association Brownie Baking Contest in 2017; and,

 

WHEREAS, Victoria is active in community service, having initiated a Veteran’s Day program by homeschoolers at the American Legion Post 1000, and participating in youth leadership and local mission projects through The Gathering Baptist Church and service projects as a Girl Scout and American Heritage Girl; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Victoria Owen on being named Miss Jackson County, on her outstanding showing in the Miss Missouri USA pageant, and on her many other accomplishments, and extends its best wishes on all of her future endeavors.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
