Body
WHEREAS, the City of Grandview, Missouri, and the Jackson County Parks + Rec Department are working collaboratively on a project to replace two original culverts under Raytown Road and the Longview Trail that have failed and need replaced; and,
WHEREAS, the County is responsible for costs related to the design and construction of the trail portion of the project, including the placement of a new trail bridge, and the City of Grandview is responsible for costs related to the design and re-construction of Raytown Road; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Grandview, with support from the County, applied for and was awarded match-funding from the Missouri Department of Transportation in the amount of $1,400,000.00 for construction of the project; and,
WHEREAS, the design cost for the trail bridge portion of the project, covered by the attached Cooperative Agreement, is $20,621.00; and,
WHEREAS, upon execution of the attached Cooperative Agreement, the City will design and bid the project to determine final construction costs; and,
WHEREAS, the City and County may enter into an amendment to this Agreement to define the terms and conditions for the construction phase of the project; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.2, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Parks + Rec recommend the execution of the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Grandview, Missouri, for construction services, as an acquisition from another government entity; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Grandview for construction services, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $20,621.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
