Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5231, dated June 3, 2019, the Legislature did award a contract to Radmacher Brothers Excavation Co., Inc. of Pleasant Hill, MO, pursuant to Bid No. PW 09-2018, for the furnishing of construction services relating to the Rock Island Shared Use Path Project at a cost to the County not to exceed $11,067,439.71; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent change orders have increased the total contract price to its present authorization of $11,652,616.58; and,

WHEREAS, the cost adjustments in this Change Order are related to project changes made at the direction of County staff to successfully complete construction of the trail; and,

WHEREAS, the changes, based on need to match field conditions or resolve design issues, include the addition of three concrete sections of trail, limestone blocks for access control, and seeding and mulching due to insufficient quantities, and the deduction of fence quantities; and,

WHEREAS, a design change recommended by the contractor and other cost-reducing measures implemented by County staff have reduced the ultimate financial impact of these issues; and,

WHEREAS, a change order for these unforeseen conditions is necessary to build the project to the specified design, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $25,719.40; and,

WHEREAS, Change Order No. 6, which addresses the retaining wall costs and cost-reducing measures, will bring the total not to exceed cost of the project to $11,678,335.98; and,
