Body
WHEREAS, the Assessment Department has a need for an independent audit to examine the department’s current processes and procedures to improve the department’s ability to serve the citizens of the County; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Assessment and Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the furnishing of the needed auditing services to the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) of Kansas City, Missouri, as a sole source purchase, for the reason that IAAO is the only local vendor experienced in assessment issues that can provide the needed services;
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the needed funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made within the 2021 Assessment Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract be awarded as recommended by the County Assessor and Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County the attached Agreement with IAAO; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
