Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5505, dated May 10, 2021, the Legislature appropriated $19,800.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 Grant Fund, in acceptance of the Sheriff's Office's Hazardous Moving Violation Enforcement grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Traffic and Highway Safety Division, and authorized the County Executive to execute a Contract with the Missouri Traffic and Highway Safety Division for the expenditure of grant funds; and,
WHEREAS, these grant funds were to be used for certain personnel related expenses of the Office's Traffic Safety Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office recently purchased Stalker radar units for the Traffic Safety Unit, at a cost of $8,702.00; and,
WHEREAS, MoDOT has made additional grant funds available to cover the cost of these radar units; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds received in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 Grant Fund:
