WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5436, dated October 26, 2020, the Legislature appropriated grant funds in the amount of $284,910.17 and authorized the County Executive to execute an agreement between the Missouri Traffic and Highway Safety Division in acceptance of a grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT), for use by the Sheriff's DWI/Traffic Safety Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the grant funds are to be used for salaries and fringe expenses and the purchase of a vehicle equipped for DWI enforcement operations; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20729, dated July 26, 2021, the Legislature awarded a contract for the furnishing of a 2021 Ford Police Interceptor SUV for use by the Sheriff's Office to Joe Machens Ford/Lincoln of Columbia, MO, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC210416003, an existing competitively bid government contract, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $34,968.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to cover the purchase of the emergency equipment required for the new vehicle from an existing County term and supply vendor, a transfer is necessary; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2021 Grant Fund:
