Body
WHEREAS, the County Treasurer has determined that sales tax receipts from the last quarter of 2020 well exceeded the revenues estimated by the County Executive in his proposed 2021 County budget and appropriated by the Legislature in the adopted budget; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has advised that he is willing to recognize a portion of these excess sales tax receipts equal to $895,004.00 as additional revenues and proposes that this sum be made available to COMBAT programs and agencies for use during the remainder of 2021, as authorized by section 532.1 of the County Code; and,
WHEREAS, the amount recommended for appropriation is less than 95% of the total amount of the excess sales tax proceeds, as determined by the County Treasurer; again as authorized by code section 532.1; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff recommends that these funds be allocated in the same manner as COMBAT funds were allocated in the 2021 County budget and the County Executive's signing statement relating thereto dated December 23, 2020; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 Anti-Crime Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
