Title
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $552,110.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 Grant Fund in acceptance of a stormwater grant received from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and authorizing payments to the cities of Grandview and Grain Valley to cover a portion of their costs in the grant projects at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $393,757.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20256, dated September 16, 2019, the Legislature authorized an application for a stormwater grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) on behalf of the City of Grandview, MO, in connection with the Raytown Road Bridge Replacement Study; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20435, dated May 26, 2020, the Legislature authorized the Director of Public Works to execute grant applications and agreements for stormwater grants from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) on behalf of the County itself for the Morris Road Culvert project, and on behalf of the cities of Grandview and Grain Valley; and,
WHEREAS, all stormwater grant project submittals and MDNR grant proceeds are required to be handled by the County; and,
WHEREAS, the County has received grant payments totaling $552,110.00 from MDNR on these projects for the benefit of the County and cities of Grandview and Grain Valley; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place these grant funds in the appropriate spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute checks totaling $393,757.00 to the cities of Grandview and Grain Valley.
