Body
WHEREAS, in 2017 the Director of Finance and Purchasing awarded a term and supply contract to AutoZone of Memphis, TN, for automotive parts for use by the Parks + Rec and Public Works Departments under an existing government contract with an estimated annual usage of $10,000.00, which is less than the threshold amount requiring legislative approval; and,
WHEREAS, other County Departments began using this contract for repair and maintenance of County vehicles which, together with an increase in supply costs, drove the estimated annual usage up to $52,300.00; and,
WHEREAS, increasing the contract and extending it to April 30, 2022, will help all using County departments continue to receive the parts necessary to keep the departments functioning smoothly; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension of and increase to the existing term and supply contract be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the increase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
