Body
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2018, the County Counselor executed a Legal Services Agreement with the law firm of Evans & Dixon, LLC, of Kansas City, MO, to provide specialized legal services in connection with the defense of a pending workers compensation claim at a maximum cost to the County not to exceed $6,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, subsequent addenda authorized by the Legislature have increased the maximum compensation payable to the firm to the amount of $7,000.00 and extended the time for performance until December 31, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor recommends that he be authorized to execute an Addendum to the Legal Services Agreement to provide for additional compensation to be payable to the firm in the amount of $2,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Counselor be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Addendum to the Legal Services Agreement with Evans & Dixon, LLC, of Kansas City, MO, for a term ending December 31, 2021, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $2,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the Addendum.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
