Body
WHEREAS, in 2019 the County Counselor entered into a Legal Services Agreement with Husch Blackwell, LLP, of Kansas City, MO, for services in connection with the Rock Island Rail Corridor property rights dispute, which agreement expired on December 31, 2020, with funding not fully expended; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor recommends that this agreement be extended to allow the County to take advantage of and expend the 2020 funding which remains encumbered to cover Husch Blackwell’s final billing; and,
WHEREAS, the recommended extension would be at no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Counselor be and hereby is authorized to execute an extension to the Legal Services Agreement with Husch Blackwell, LLP, of Kansas City, MO, for a term ending December 31, 2021, at no additional cost to the County.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
