Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Family Court Night Light program is designed to address serious and potentially violent juvenile offenders who are either under pre-adjudication supervision, on probation, or re-entering the community from residential placement; and,
WHEREAS, this program's goals are to hold youth accountable for their actions, reduce delinquent behavior, encourage sound social decision-making behavior, and reduce illegal substance abuse; and,
WHEREAS, COMBAT funding of this program provides critical afterhours monitoring conducted by juvenile probation officers and members of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office that supports the prevention programming offered by the Family Court; and,
WHEREAS, the Night Light program has been shown to be effective in reducing recidivism; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer within the Anti-Crime Sales Tax Fund is necessary to place the funds required for this program in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2021 Anti-Crime Sales Tax Fund:
