Body
WHEREAS, Bob Tuttle was born and raised in a baseball family under the guidance of his dad, professional baseball player Bill Tuttle, center fielder for the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics, and Minnesota Twins; and,

WHEREAS, it was his father's tenure with the Athletics that brought Bob to Kansas City, where Bob became a star athlete in his own right; and,

WHEREAS, Bob excelled in baseball, playing second base for the University of Central Missouri Mules from 1971 to 1974, leading the team in runs three times, hits twice, and stolen bases twice; and,

WHEREAS, every year he played for the Mules, Bob was named to the All-MIAA first team, leading the Mules to the College Division World Series in 1974; and,

WHEREAS, in 2020, Bob was inducted into the UCM Athletics Hall of Fame; and,

WHEREAS, Bob became a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in 1978, starting out in the Road Patrol Division; and,

WHEREAS, Bob was promoted to Sergeant in 1986 and then to Captain in 2017, having served, in addition to the Road Patrol Division, with the Motorcycle Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Investigations; and,

WHEREAS, Captain Tuttle started the Office's Professional Standards Authority and investigated internal affairs issues and, while a sergeant, he was assigned to the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

WHEREAS, for many years associates at the Downtown Courthouse have come to know Captain Tuttle as the Division Commander for Courthouse Security; and,
