AN ORDINANCE appropriating $142,000.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2020 CARES Act Fund to reimburse the Cities of Lone Jack and Sugar Creek, Missouri, for public safety regular salaries and overtime expenses and other necessary costs in connection with the fight against the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and authorizing the County Executive to execute addenda to the existing Intergovernmental Agreements with the Cities of Lone Jack and Sugar Creek, Missouri, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $142,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Missouri Governor Mike Parson, and County Executive Frank White, Jr., have all declared, in one form or another, the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic to be a public health emergency; and,
WHEREAS, the County, through its various efforts, plays a significant role in the public health of its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriate response by the County to this emergency will require significant expenditures from the County CARES Act Fund, which consists of monies provided by the U.S. Treasury for this purpose; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5359, dated June 12, 2020, the Legislature authorized Intergovernmental Agreements with the Cities of Lone Jack and Sugar Creek, Missouri, to provide for payment of certain of the Cities' COVID-19 related expenses, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $18,100.00 for the two cities; and,
WHEREAS, with the funding provided by this Ordinance, Lone Jack and Sugar Creek will be reimbursed for public safety regular salaries and overtime expenses and other costs deemed reasonable under CARES Act guidelines incurred from March 1, 2020, through December 30, 2020, at an additional aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $142,000.00; now therefore,
