Body
WHEREAS, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Missouri Governor Mike Parson, and County Executive Frank White, Jr., have all declared, in one form or another, the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic to be a public health emergency; and,

WHEREAS, the County, through its various efforts, plays a significant role in the public health of its citizens and employees; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriate response by the County to this emergency will require significant expenditures from the County CARES Act Fund, which consists of monies provided by the U.S. Treasury for this purpose; and,

WHEREAS, to comply with U.S Centers for Disease Control and local health department guidelines for social distancing, domestic violence shelters have had to reduce capacity at the shelters and shelter violence survivors in hotels; and,

WHEREAS, this Ordinance will provide $65,000.00 each to Hope House, Newhouse, and Rose Brooks to enable them to further assist clients with past due rent, utility bills, housing application fees, and other housing needs, allow shelters to be reimbursed for necessary cleaning and sanitation supplies and hotel placement programs, provide PPE for staff and clients, and address survivors' evolving needs through case management, all in connection with the pandemic; now therefore,
