WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5378, dated July 27, 2020, the County Executive was authorized to execute an agreement with the United States Department of Justice in acceptance of a grant in the amount of $58,008.00 awarded by the Office of Justice Programs to the County to provide for the purchase of equipment to allow adequate social distancing in the conduct of Sheriff's Office registration activities in connection with the fight against the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic; and,
WHEREAS, with the acquisition of the necessary registration technology, including two portable livescan fingerprint booking stations with mugshot capture and four MorphoIDent Mobile Solutions, the Sheriff's Office will have improved social distancing and be able to operate more safely; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the purchase of the needed equipment from Idemia Identity & Security USA, LLC, of Anaheim, California, under the terms and conditions of the State of Missouri Contract No. C215091002, an existing, competitively bid government contract, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $43,690.00; now therefore,
